We are pleased to welcome back MarathonFoto, who has been selected as the official photographer of the Back Roads Century. They are the most renowned sporting event photography group, covering races such as the London, Boston and Marine Corps Marathons. MarathonFoto will be here to take pictures of you, and you don’t even have to run 26.2 miles. Just get on your bike and smile!
Their photographers will be stationed along each of our routes (25, 30, 50, 65 and 100 miles) taking photographs of every rider. During your ride, you’ll see their photographers during your ride, so be sure to smile for the camera and try to make it look like you’re going really, really fast. Photographers will also be at our rest stops and post-ride picnic to capture candid moments as well; taking pictures of you and your friends.
After the ride, we'll have a photographer stationed near the finish area to take solo or group posed pictures. There will be a sign that says “I just rode 100 miles in the Back Roads Century” which you can stand next to with your bike. Just be sure to bring your odometer and hold it up to the camera. We need proof that you actually rode 100 miles!
72 hours after the ride, MarathonFoto will e-mail you a web link to view proofs of any photos you appear in. You’ll be able to browse the photos and select your favorite ones for purchase. There will also be photographs of scenery, road side attractions and historic sites, from which to choose. These will be posted on the MarathonFoto web site and they'll be available for purchase as well. There’s no obligation to purchase, so what have you got to lose? They might just capture that perfect Kodak moment.
Note: It’s important that your Bike Number is attached to your handle bars. That’s how the photographers are able to determine who you are.
To view pictures after the ride, visit their web site www.marathonfoto.com and select Back Roads Century as the event. Then you simply enter your Rider Number to browse the photos that you appear in.
