The Back Roads Century is presented by the Potomac Pedalers Touring Club of Washington, DC.  Potomac Pedalers is a tax-exempt non-profit organization recognized under IRS code 501(c), providing educational, recreational and social organization for bicycling enthusiasts.

Potomac Pedalers is an all volunteer organization, whose membership works tirelessly to promote cycling, organize group rides for the community, and sponsor special cycling events, such as the Back Roads Century.

The purpose of the Back Roads Century is to raise the awareness of cycling, and encourage others to get out and ride.  We want everyone to share the experience of cycling with us, and consider joining our organization. The more we grow, the more we can give back.

Potomac Pedalers works in partnership with local businesses and organizations that help us promote cycling.  We'll regularly donate to worthy groups such as the Boy Scouts, schools, historical societies, and others.

Our efforts in promoting cycling have a direct benefit throughout the Metropolitan area.  Many of our members commute to work on their bikes.  This reduces pollution and congestion, while also having the long-term benefit of curbing the need to continually build new roads for expanding traffic.

While we welcome donations any time of the year, we offer sponsorship opportunities specifically for the Back Roads Century.  You can donate cash, gift cards, store credits, merchandise, or even your time and energy.  Your donation will support our event and keep it going. 

In return for your support, we'll place your business name and logo on our web site, as well as mention your business in our newsletter that goes out to thousands of Potomac Pedalers members.  That's positive exposure which will yield immeasurable dividends for you.

Our club members, as well as other Back Roads Century participants, belong to the local community, and spend their money here.  What better way to bring recognition to your business, than to have more than a thousand cyclists out for a great time, associating your name with our event.  It's a win-win for all involved.
