There are a wealth of activities in the Shenandoah Valley.  The area is best know for outdoor adventure, due to the incredible beauty of the mountains, rivers and valleys.  To find the activity that's right for you, simply click on any of the links below, and you'll be taken to the Shenandoah Valley Travel Association web site.

Shenandoah National Park

The single most popular activity in the Shenandoah Valley is Shenandoah National Park.  Stretching over 100 miles from north to south, you can drive through the park on Skyline Drive, a National Scenic Byway; and recognized as one of the most beautiful highways in America.  This is a must see for any new visitor. Outdoor Recreation

Outdoor recreation ranges from cycling (we think that's the best activity), to hiking, rafting, fishing, camping and more.

Natural Wonders

There are several Natural Wonders in the Valley.  Perhaps the best known is Luray Caverns.  It's been a favorite destination of DC area residents for generations and is located about 1 hour from Berryville, VA.

Family Fun

There's lots of family fun activities in the Valley.  How about a Garden Maze at Luray Caverns; the Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum, located in nearby Winchester; or the Luray Zoo.  You'll find lots of activities for any age group.

Civil War Trails

The American Civil War Commission has installed commemorative markers and driving tours, so that you can discover and learn about the Civil War history of this region.

Shopping

Shopping in the Shenandoah Valley revolves around history and tradition.  There's lots of antiques shop, flea markets, galleries and more.  For more urban shopping, head to Winchester, VA or Charles Town, WV.  This is where you'll find malls and traditional shopping centers.
